Linda also reported that the “Letters from Santa” fund raiser was very successful. The project added $400 to our fund for Relay for Life. A Motion that our club accept the project as a fund raiser for Relay for Life again next year was made by Linda. Motion carried. The deadline for receiving the letters next year will be December 1 with a mail-out date of December 5. Linda also explained what “Relay for Life” accomplishes and reported that our site at the relay next year is in a very good area of the field.
Fran Spencer gave a brief report on the Wildwood Elementary School project. Many club members have applied to be volunteers at the school and applications have been approved. Fran will contact the school and ask if we can come as a club for a “Day of Service” on a monthly basis. She will report back at the February meeting. Also, members who wish to volunteer individually are encouraged to do so. Please report all your hours.
NEW BUSINESS
President Sheila announced that the District Arts and Crafts show will be hosted by Umatilla Woman’s Club in Apopka. A sign-up sheet will be available at the February meeting. All members are encouraged to attend. Members may go to www.gfwcflorida.org website to view the categories for arts and crafts.
Judith Mineo reported on a fashion show which she, Sheila and Linda Manson attended at the Williston Woman’s Club. She presented the idea that our club hold a similar event using “Accessories and More” as a fund raiser and way to promote our club. More information will be presented at
